Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing dealt with issues of gender and opulence in UMBC's production. A newsprint style set was designed by Elena Zlotescu, with walls that spiraled in a seashell fashion.

As assistant set designer, Peter Wood was responsible for turning the scale model into a full-size theatrical setting. Model pieces were scanned and printed onto large rolls of sticky-backed white paper, which were then applied to the plywood walls.
